was elected to the Council; he died on November 26, 1896, having attended the last
Council meeting of the year eight days before ("Minutes of the Council," November 18,
1896, p. 250). TheAnnual Report for 1896 (p. 33) lists George L. Goodale instead of
Mr. Gould as a member of the Council; however, no record can be found of Mr.
