This is because the summation of the median of non-normal distributions (above) do not yield the median of simulation models that represent normalized data.

c The model assumes that all girls are menstruating at age 14.0 years and after; it also assumes that no girls reach menarche before age 14. This is not a valid assumption. In working with individuals, menstrual status can be ascertained and an adjustment can be made.
