He has extensive experience in advising the Japanese government on nuclear issues. Dr. Suzuki serves as chairman for the Committee of Nuclear Safety Standards within the Nuclear Safety Commission of Japan, Nuclear Non-proliferation Committee of Japan Nuclear Cycle Development Institute, and Nuclear Fuel Cycle Safety Research Committee of Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute. Dr. Suzuki is a member of the Atomic Energy Society of Japan, the Society of Chemical Engineers, Japan and the American Nuclear Society. He has published more than 20 books and more than 200 papers. Dr. Suzuki received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in nuclear engineering from the University of Tokyo.
