The National Institute on Aging—Behavioral and Social Research Program
The National Research Council, with sponsorship from the National Institute on Aging, will hold a workshop on Technology for Adaptive Aging at the National Academy of Sciences building in Washington, DC, on January 23 and 24, 2003. The workshop will address some of the ways in which technology can be developed and applied to improve the lives of an aging population. Nationally recognized experts will discuss potential applications of technology to the domains of Living Environments, Health, Communication, Education and Learning, Transportation, and Employment. Special emphasis will be given to the challenges of translating laboratory successes into useful, marketable products and services. Speakers will highlight technologies that are promising candidates for SBIR and other support of translational research and development.
