In addition, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has identified in Healthy People 2010 a set of health objectives intended to improve the health of the country. Healthy People 2010 specifies 10 leading health indicators and 467 objectives within the overall goals of improving quality and years of healthy life and eliminating health disparities. Several of the objectives relate to children. The objectives are listed and can be searched at http://www.healthypeople.gov/.
