Federal Facility Agreement Waste Removal Schedule

The Savannah River Site Federal Facility Agreement (FFA) requires the U.S. Department of Energy to submit to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the South Carolina Department of Environmental Control an annual report containing, among other items, the schedule for the removal of high-level waste from noncompliant tanks (i.e., those that do not have a full secondary containment). These are Tanks 1 through 24. Figure F-1 shows the latest removal schedule, as of September 2004 (DOE, 2005).
