service organizations have nine drivers of success: strategic focus, executional excellence, control of destiny, trust-based relationships, investment in employee success, acting small, brand cultivation, generosity, and value-driven leadership (Berry, 1999). Although the Fable Hospital has not been built yet, it will be, said Parker. They are close to achieving that goal. Parker closed with the hope that this workshop has helped contribute evidence to make a powerful business case for quality, safety, and sustainability in American health care.
