Environmental Impacts of Wind-Energy Projects
the Alleghany Highlands where wind-energy projects are being developed. Within the Appalachian ecosystems, Dr. Whitmore has conducted extensive field research in the habitat types that are involved in wind-energy development. He is an Elected Member of the American Ornithologists Union, as well as a member of the Cooper Ornithological Society, the Wilson Ornithological Society, and the Society of Field Ornithologists. He received a Ph.D. in Zoology from Brigham Young University.
