In addition he has been responsible for battery technology transfer to manufacturing and interacted with application engineers and marketing and legal organizations. He is a recipient of the Sam Tour award by the American Society of Testing and Materials and is a member of the Electrochemical Society. He served on the NRC Committee to Review the U.S. Advanced Battery Consortium’s electric vehicle battery R&D project selection process. He holds a B.Tech. in metallurgical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology–Bombay and a Ph. D. in materials science from the State University of New York, Stony Brook.
