The contract that DOE has now renegotiated to allow NASA to purchase the remaining available supply of Russian Pu238 clearly signifies DOE’s commitment to meeting the requirements of NASA’s space systems. NASA is committed to working it partnership with DOE to support the budget process for maintaining capability to supply Pu238 RPS, including establishment of new domestic Pu238 production capability as soon as possible.
