Chapter 4 presents additional considerations for the 2010 census itself. It begins with technology concerns for 2010, followed by a discussion of the issue of data retention by census contractors. The chapter concludes with a discussion of the benefits of facilitating census enumeration as part of telephone questionnaire assistance. Appendix A provides the Census Bureau’s summaries of suggested research topics for experiments and evaluations in 2010. Appendix B summarizes Internet response options in the 2000 U.S. census and in selected population censuses in other countries. Appendix III presents biographical sketches of panel members and staff.
