Chapter 6 provides recommendations for targeted research and development in the areas of (1) munition assessment, (2) destruction of intact munitions, and (3) decontamination of empty contaminated items.

Chapter 7 presents a review the current NSCMP organizational relationships and fow of funding as presented in Chapter 2, and the impact of the future diminished role of the CMA is discussed. Recommendations for changes in both NSCMP organizational relationships and the fow of funding for remediation of CWM sites are then presented and discussed.
