A SAFER FUTURE: Reducing the Impacts of Natural Disasters

Temporary shelters provide a dry refuge, food, warmth, survivors of Hurricane Hugo. Response teams and others providing assistance must take into account the special needs of the very young, the very old, the injured, the handicapped, and non-English speakers when establishing assistance centers.
