The committee urges hospitals and nursing homes to assess the effectiveness of prevention training and other models of organizational and nurse leadership described in contemporary research studies on the subject. It also urges hospitals and nursing homes to develop and implement strategies to prevent or reduce the incidence of injuries, violence and abuse, and stress and burnout in these health care workplaces.
