A CLASSIFICATION OF INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAMS
IN ALLIED HEALTH
The Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP), developed by the
U.S. Department of Education's Center for Educational Statistics (CES) in
1979-1980, was updated for the first time in 1985. CIP is a taxonomy for
instructional programs at all levels. It is used in all CES surveys and is the
accepted government standard for education information surveys.
