Degradation of the Missouri River ecosystem will continue unless the river's natural water flow is significantly restored, says a new report from the National Academies' National Research Council. Congress should enact legislation to ensure that federal officials manage the river in a way that improves ecological conditions, said the committee that wrote the report.
