Nonhuman Primates: Standards and Guidelines for the Breeding, Care, and Management of Laboratory Animals sets standards and guidelines for experimental colonies, to production colonies, and to facilities used by importers for maintaining and conditioning primates. Written in response to the increasing extent to which nonhuman primates are being used as laboratory animals, this report discusses facility design and construction and management procedures for the use of prosimians, new world monkeys, old world monkeys, baboons, and the great apes.
