February 1988 Trial
Following is a notice published by the Somali National News
Agency on September 23, 1987. Because of the poor quality of the

DETAINEES TO BE BROUGHT TO COURT
Mogadishu, Sept 23 (SONNA) A news release by the
National Security Court said today that the
Presecutor-General of the Security Court had submitted to
the court the documents of the charges against the
following defendants;
1. Ismail Ali Abukar
2. Osman Mohamed Jelleh
3. Omar Arteh Ghalib
4. Mohamed Adan Sheikh
5. Mohamed Yusuf Weyrah
6. Omar Haji Mohamed, and others who are detained with
them.
These defendants are charged with committing various
crimes against the sovereignty, independence, unity and
security of the Somali Nation.
The Court has set February 1, 1988 at 8. a.m. for the
hearing of the cases against these persons in order to
given them res reasonable time to prepare their defences.
The Court has informed the defendants that they can
choose lawyers on whom they have confidence to defend them.
