The equipment costs represent a substantial fixed cost and must be reflected accurately. Operational costs are expected to maintain the same level of importance in the future, and the number of miles per year will affect the salvage value and service life. Maintenance costs are expected to keep the same level of importance in the future. As freight market competitiveness grows, companies will continue to maintain their equipment so they can maximize its useful life. Insurance premiums and government fees are expected to continue to rise in the future and l will continue to be critical cost components. As new regulations are introduced and insurance costs continue to rise, the costs associated with proper training are expected to increase; however, the cost to a shipment should be minimal. Remarks Operational costs are expected to maintain the same level of importance in the future. Specialized operational costs are expected to continue to be of high importance in the future. Freight markets are expected to become even more competitive in the future; therefore, overhead-related costs are expected to increase in importance in the future. As new regulations and policies are introduced, the labor-related costs are expected to continue to have the same level of importance as they have currently. (10) (11) (12) (13) As the awareness of environmental concerns continues to grow, the consumption of oil and rubber products will remain a key focus. Communication costs are an essential cost for freight companies. It is expected that these companies will continue to have up-to-date systems to more efficiently move their goods. Government taxes and fees are expected to maintain the existing level of importance in the future. If there is an increase or a restructuring in the fuel tax, then it is expected that the cost of fuel will increase, therefore making this cost item more important in the future.
