Below is the uncorrected machine-read text of this chapter, intended to provide our own search engines and external engines with highly rich, chapter-representative searchable text of each book. Because it is UNCORRECTED material, please consider the following text as a useful but insufficient proxy for the authoritative book pages.

81 A P P E N D I X D Survey Questionnaire Introduction In the last decade, the number of bikesharing programs has increased rapidly in the United States. The connection with transit is well recognized where bikesharing can complement transit as a first mile/last mile solution, fill connections between services, and in some cases, provide relief for overcrowded transit services. This survey is intended to gather information on the integration of bikeshare and transit so that bikeshare operators, transit agencies, and decision makers can learn from these experiences. Responses will be used to inform a Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP) synthesis that will document the current state of the practice in bikeshare integration with transit. We ask that you fill out this survey as completely as possible, although we realize that in some cases you may not have the information at-hand or may need more time to research your response. Any information that you can provide will be useful. The survey will be available from January 13 through February 17. If you have any questions about this survey, please contact Mariela Garcia-Colberg with the National Academies of Science at 202-334-2361 or Mauricio Hernandez of Toole Design Group at 301-927-1900, x126 or mhernandez@tooledesign.com. TRB's Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP) Synthesis 132: Public Transit and Bikesharing explores cooperative transit and bikesharing relationships and documents the experiences of transit systems with bikesharing as a mode. An increasing number of transit agencies have developed cooperative arrangements with bikesharing programs to strengthen the relationship between the modes. The implementation and integration of bikesharing programs can sometimes present challenges to transit agencies. The synthesis identifies the current state of the practice, including challenges, lessons learned, and gaps in information.
