A 1 1/2-day workshop to explore the responsibilities, challenges, industry standards, and best practices associated with staffing for operating and maintaining complex and diverse physical plants like the VHA’s, which ranges from complex medical centers and hospitals to outpatient clinics and skilled nursing facilities as well as support facilities. Key topics of discussion will include:
- Impacts of plant operations and maintenance on patient care/outcomes
- Measuring operational and maintenance effectiveness
- Cost management
- Regulatory and accreditation requirements impacting plant operations and maintenance
- Operations and maintenance staff competencies
- Customer service feedback
