53 APPENDIX C Survey Summary Following the event, a participant survey with five questions/prompts was distributed to attendees. Seventy-seven attendees submitted responses. Survey questions and prompts included 1. What have you learned from this event? 2. I will apply what I have learned during this event in the upcoming year. 3. What blockchain topics would you be interested in learning more about? 4. Please provide suggestions for additional ACRP research. 5. I would like to receive news about upcoming ACRP events and webinars. The following key insights were gathered from the survey: ï· Day 1: August 4, 2020 - Fifty-five percent of participants strongly agreed or agreed they would apply what they learned from the event during the upcoming year. - Thirty-one attendees were interested in receiving information about upcoming ACRP webinars. - The average audience interest rating was 62 out of 100. ï· Day 2: August 5, 2020 - Thirty-nine percent of participants strongly agreed or agreed they would apply what they learned from the event during the upcoming year. - Twenty-seven attendees were interested in receiving information about upcoming ACRP webinars. - The average audience interest rating was 65 out of 100. Blockchain topics audience members would be interested in learning more about included ï· Blockchain and airport operations; ï· Blockchain and COVID-19; ï· Blockchain and airport customer-facing operations; ï· The use of blockchain and building information modeling (BIM) to verify contract progress completion on capital projects; ï· Blockchain as applied to airport planning, design, construction, maintenance and repair, and operations;
54 ï· Scalability of blockchain; ï· Building an airport management and operations team that can absorb and implement quickly emerging technology such as blockchain and IoT; and ï· Blockchain limitations. The following suggestions for additional ACRP research (unrelated to blockchain and airport operations) were made: ï· Tracking of building materials for public construction projects, ï· Airport planning, ï· The interrelationship between the fourth revolution technologies and current technology, ï· Risks and opportunities for distributed applications to improve aircraft ground operations beyond the handling of cargo, ï· BIM airport model uses, and ï· Intermodal trends for both cargo and passengers.
