APPENDIX
A
Committee Statement of Task
This is a two-phase study being conducted under the Federal Construction Council program. In Phase 1 the committee will review current educational programs in the United States for architects and engineers and assess whether these programs are delivering professionals who are appropriately trained for careers involving the design, construction, or management of facilities. This review will focus on curricula and the philosophy that determine what “product” these programs are designed to turn out. The committee will seek information and expressions of views from other interested organizations. At the end of Phase 1 the committee will issue a report presenting its conclusions and outlining plans for Phase 2, in which the problems, if any, identified in Phase 1 will be addressed.
