... On the basis of ~ohn's technical, management, and policy contributions, he was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 1975. Among other recognitions he received were the Outstanding Young Electrical Engineer Award of Eta Kappa Nu in 1952, the IRE's Seventh Region Electronic Achievement Award in 1955, and fellow status in the IEEE.
