While a member of the faculty and vice president at Harvard University, he was a founding director and vice chairman of the Massachusetts Technology Development Corporation, a public venture capital company for new technology start-ups begun in 1978. Wyatt is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, a director of several companies, a trustee of several philanthropic organizations, and a principal of the Washington Advisory Group.
