Connelly, Jr., is senior vice president and chief sity of California, Los Angeles, in 1961 and in 1994 was science and technology officer, DuPont Company. In 2000, he stepped down as vice provost has received numerous prestigious awards and is a member and returned to the Chemistry Department as professor of of the National Academy of Engineering, a fellow of the chemistry; he has taught since 1970. He serves as executive American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineers, and director of a new National Science Foundation Science and a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement Technology Center in photonics and optoelectronics.
