GLOSSARY OF ACRONYMS AND TERMS Asphalt level-up -- A surface course composed of a compacted mixture of mineral aggregate and asphaltic material constructed on the previously completed existing wearing surface, or in the case of a bridge, on the prepared slab. Its purpose is to raise the final elevation of an existing pavement to match an adjacent pavement.
