... John Isaacs was a professor at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography and since 1971 was also Director of the University of California's statewide Institute of Marine Resources. Professor Isaacs was often described as a Renaissance man: scientist, engineer, physical oceanographer, biologist, author, inventor, and his favorite of all, teacher.
