Dr. Dietrich was internationally known for a pioneering career in nuclear power reactor development that spanned more than thirty years and included the nuclear design of the prototype power plant for the world's first nuclear submarine, the Nautilus, and the Atomic Energy Commission's first boiling-water reactors.
