PRIMARY WORK: The Tianj~n Fire Research Institute is involved in research on the combustion property of materials and techniques in fire prevention and explosion venting; the theory of fire modeling and testing techniques; techniques of fire statistics, fire investigation, and fire-cause determination; fire ext~ngu~shants, fire resistance, and fire-resistant materials; applied techniques of automatic fire alarm and automatic fire-ext~nguishing eng~neenng; fire standards and fire prevention codes. The institute is also the National Center for Inspection and Testing of Product Quality-of Fixed Fire Extinguishing System and Fire Resistant Building Components.
