Biomchnology-related collaborative projects are designed with international cooperation and collaboration in mind are: Human Frontiers Science Program, proposed at the Venice Summit in 1987 by the Japanese government with an initial budget of $17 million for FY 1989. Research areas will focus on brain functions such as learning and biological functions achieved through molecular approaches such as molecular recognition.
