Warm mix asphalt (WMA) refers to asphalt concrete mixtures that are produced at temperatures approximately 50Â°F (28Â°C) or more cooler than typically used in the production of hot mix asphalt (HMA). TRB's National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) Report 678: Design of FRP Systems for Strengthening Concrete Girders in Shear offers suggested design guidelines for concrete girders strengthened in shear using externally bonded Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (FRP) systems.
The guidelines address the strengthening schemes and application of the FRP systems and their contribution to shear capacity of reinforced and prestressed concrete girders. The guidelines are supplemented by design examples to illustrate their use for concrete beams strengthened with different FRP systems.
TRB's National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) Research Results Digest 351: Precision Statements for AASHTO Standard Methods of Test T 148, T 265, T 267, AND T 283 summarizes the findings of four interlaboratory studies conducted in 2009 and 2010 to develop precision statements for the AASHTO standard methods of measuring length of drilled concrete cores, laboratory determination of moisture content of soils, determination of organic content in soils by loss of ignition, and resistance of compacted hot-mix asphalt to moisture-induced damage.
