On September 18, 2017, the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) held a workshop to explore the possibility of a competition for undergraduate students based on the NAE Grand Challenges for Engineering. The workshop brought together university faculty and administrators, representatives of engineering societies and companies, and students to examine how such a competition would be organized and administered. This publication briefly summarizes the presentations and discussions from the workshop.
