Because it is UNCORRECTED material, please consider the following text as a useful but insufficient proxy for the authoritative book pages.

D-1 A p p e n d i x d General Use of Customizable Parameter Fact Sheet Tool The ACRP Customizable Parameter Fact Sheet Tool is designed to allow users to quickly create a customized PDF fact sheet for one of several pollutants based on the components and topic areas that are relevant. The Fact Sheet Tool is built in Microsoft® Access™ and uses Microsoft Access forms and reports as the primary user interface. A working knowledge of Micro- soft Access is not required to use the Fact Sheet Tool; however, knowledge of Access tables and queries is recommended for updating the underlying data. System Requirements • The Tool is intended to run in Microsoft Access 2007 or later; macros must be enabled for the Tool to run properly. • The Tool has been tested in a Windows 7 environment; user experience may differ in other operating system environments. • Each instance of the Tool requires at least 5 MB of storage space. • The Tool does not require traditional “installation”; therefore, administrator privileges should generally not be required for use. If you are operating within strict security settings, adminis- trator privileges may be required to enable macros within Microsoft Access. Organization of the Tool The Tool is divided into three main components: 1. An input form that allows you to specify the sections you want to be included in a fact sheet 2. A report generated based on the inputs in the form representing the fact sheet 3. Database tables and queries that are used to generate the report. These are typically hidden from the average user in a collapsed navigation pane but can be edited and customized by a more advanced user. As a user, most of your interaction with the Tool will typically be limited to interacting with the form to generate one or more fact sheets. Generating Fact Sheets The primary purpose of the Tool is to help you generate a pollutant fact sheet. To generate a fact sheet, follow these steps: 1. Download the Microsoft Access file that contains the Tool from the ACRP Research Report 166 summary web page on the TRB website (www.trb.org). The Tool opens to the main form (shown in Figure D-1 anno- tated with short descriptions of the various controls). 3. Select a pollutant by clicking one of the pollutants in the left hand-side list box and then clicking the “Include One >” button to send the highlighted pollutant across into the right hand-side list box for inclusion in your fact sheet. 4. Next, use the radio buttons under the “Select Content to Include” section to indicate the sections you want to include in your fact sheet. 5. If there are site-specific effluent limits or criteria you would like to include, provide those in the “Add/Edit Site-Specific Effluent Limits, Benchmarks, or Criteria” section. 6. If there are any comments you would like to show on the generated fact sheet, type them into the “Comments” box. 7. Preview the fact sheet by clicking the “Factsheet Preview” button. A preview of the fact sheet is shown as indicated in Figure D-2. (Note: To exit the preview, right click on or around the fact sheet displayed and select “Close” to close the preview. If prompted to save, click “No”.) 8. Click the “Generate PDF” button on the main interface; a “Browse for Folder” dialog box will launch for you to select a folder where the generated PDF of the fact sheet can be saved (Figure D-3). Once a folder is selected and the “OK” button clicked, the Tool generates and saves a PDF file of the fact sheet with the name of the pollutant and the current date as part of the file name. 9. Access the PDF file by locating it in the selected folder. Figure D-1. Fact Sheet Tool user interface.

TRB's Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) Research Report 166: Interpreting the Results of Airport Water Monitoring provides comprehensive guidance and a set of tools that operators of airports of varying sizes can use to understand, diagnose, and interpret airport water quality. This guidebook addresses water leaving the airport that does not go to an off-site treatment facility. Accompanying the report are the following tools to assist practitioners in diagnosing root causes and possible sources of specific problems that may require attention or mitigation:
