Compiled by the Health Services Subcommittee of the Interagency Committee on School Health
This table offers basic descriptive information on federal programs providing funds for school-based or school-linked health programs. Available funding sources for training of school health professionals are also listed on this chart. In general, information on the dollar amount specifically targeted for school health programs was not available. The fixed year (FY) 1993 budget reported is for the entire program and not exclusively for the school health component.

Brief Description |
Medicaid pays for health services provided to low-income individuals who meet eligibility criteria. There is a defined list of clinical services provided, including general health screenings, vision, dental, and hearing services and other medically necessary health services |
EPSDT is a comprehensive preventive health program for Medicaid-eligible children under age 21. Through EPSDT, Medicaid-eligible children receive periodic health screenings, as well as medically necessary diagnostic and treatment services for conditions found through the screenings |
