18 Productivity The research team reviewed literature that explores the relationships between infrastructure and productivity growth, and that evaluates the association between transportation and productivity growth. This part of the literature review provided the foundation for evaluating the link between intermodal connectivity and productivity growth, and became the basis for the multifactor productivity analysis conducted in this project.
