The workshop will feature invited presentations and include discussion of key biological energy capture, storage, and trans formation processes; gaps in knowledge and barriers to transitioning the current state of knowledge into applications; and underdeveloped research opportunities that might exist beyond disciplinary boundaries. The agenda for the workshop will be developed to focus on a variety of energy processes such as chemosynthesis, motility, and cellular functions, which serve as inspiring models for future energy systems.
