The veer-off risk is estimated for every landing operation, whereas the airborne risk is computed only for missed approaches under instrument conditions, which are assumed to be the worst scenario. For the airborne phase, because this analysis is intended to evaluate the risk of collision between the approaching aircraft and an aircraft located in a parallel taxiway or an object, the analysis will focus only on the area within the immediate vicinity of the runway threshold and touchdown zone.
