For this reason, the Army Reserve has initiated programs to make available to combatant commands and Army theater components planning teams whose members not only will be able to assist in developing computer contingency plans but also will provide to the planners information about the capabilities of the specialized reserve units. It is not unusual to find that within a higher-level headquarters there is limited knowledge about the types of units and their capabilities involved in complex logistical operations such as those that occur at ports and critical transit locations.
