19 Joint Faulting Although joint faulting is a concern for single-layer JPCPs, it is not more of a concern in PCC/PCC composite pavements than in JPCPs. As in the case of the heterogeneous-layered slab response to transverse cracking, the presence of heterogeneous layers in a slab does not exacerbate faulting relative to that of a structurally equivalent JPCP.
