1 INTRODUCTION The purpose of this document is to support and serve as background for the draft Standard Recommended Practice for Modification and Stabilization of Subgrade and Base Soils in Pavement Structures. The Recommended Practice and this background report address soil exploration, modifier selection, verification of stabilizer selection, and mix design.
