He previously served as the chair of the EPA's National Advisory Committee for Acute Exposure Guideline Levels for Hazardous Substances and has served on the following National Research Council committees: the Committee on Toxicology; the Committee on Assessment of Fire Suppression Substitutes and Alternatives to Halon; and the Subcommittee on Iodotrifluoromethane: Toxicological Review.
