His research focuses on limited-capacity systems for holding information active in the mind and for exerting voluntary control over which aspects of the environment are fully encoded. He uses a combination of behavioral, electroencephalography, and functional magnetic resonance imaging methods to investigate the nature of limits in online memory and attention, as well as the neural processes that support these cognitive faculties.
