164 A P P E N D I X D LANTA Scheduler Job Descriptions POSITION DESCRIPTION Title: Director of Planning and Development Classification: Level 8 Department: Planning Reports to: Executive Director Supervises: Planners, Schedule Makers, Land Use Specialist, Customer Service, Technology Systems Coordinator Date established/revised: May 16, 2016 RESPONSIBILITIES: The staff position with responsibility for LANTA route planning and development, implementing LANTA's transit friendly land use development policies, interfacing with the regional transportation planning process, integrating technology solutions to manage the transit system, obtaining/maintaining program development data, and perform required special studies and projects designed to expand/revise LANTA operations. EXAMPLES OF WORK The duties of the Director of Planning will be associated with the following areas: • Service Planning o Ongoing monitoring of service performance and quality; o Periodic reporting of service performance and quality compared to established service guidelines; o Identifying mobility needs in the service area and developing service plans to address identified needs; o Facilitate the identification of service improvement priorities; o Plan for the implementation of the Moving LANTA Forward service plan; o Act as the Authority's contact with the planning and development community in the service area, monitor and respond to proposed developments for their impact on transit service.

LANTA Scheduler Job Descriptions 165 • Organizational Strategic Planning o Assist Authority departments in identifying and pursuing software and capital asset purchases/implementation designed to increase the automation of Authority tasks; o Develop and facilitate a continuous Business Process Improvement program within the Authority. • Data Reporting and Analysis o Develop and implement a program for the periodic reporting of key performance statistics; o Develop procedures for the periodic analysis of ATMS and other data; o Develop standardized procedures for the calculation and reporting of statistics.
