The majority of doctorates in life sciences were awarded within 7 years of fellowship awards in EMP and the behavioral and social sciences, the number of awards drops off dramatically after the sixth year from fellowship award. These findings are consistent with the Graduate Fellowship Program, which found that almost 90 percent of all awardees who would complete the Ph.D.
