This policy should be expanded to include a second professional association, such as SWE, the National Society of Black Engineers, the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, or the American Indian Science and Engineering Society. SWE members relate many instances of being able to obtain company support to attend their technical association conference, but not the SWE annual conference, which provides technical, management, and leadership training opportunities.
