J-1 Appendix J â Checklist to Examine Organization Readiness to Integrate Traffic Safety Culture Strategic Approach into Existing Safety Planning Processes The following table can be used as a self-assessment checklist to determine the readiness of the organization culture to integrate the strategic approach to transform traffic safety culture into existing safety planning processes. To use this checklist: 1. Review and list data sources that provide evidence regarding each organization condition. 2. Based on these data sources, make a judgment about the current presence of each condition. 3. Indicate the confidence in each judgment based on the quality of the data available. 4. Focus on those conditions for which you have high conditions about your judgments. 5. Identify strategies to create the conditions that are absent (from absent to present). 6. Identify strategies to increase the conditions that are present (from low to high). 7. Seek additional sources to increase improve your low confidence judgments, then repeat steps 5 and 6 for the conditions related to these judgments.

The organization has a vision for the goal (success) of the safety culture program. Many organizational levels are involved in the design and implementation of the program.
